MVS clerk on winning teamNovember 17, 2004 Kurt Van Thomme, currently a clerk and soon-to-be associate with McKee, Voorhees & Sease, was on the winning team for the Drake University Law School National Moot Court regional competition. Van Thomme, along with team members Joel Hengstler and Geneva Williams won Best Petitioner’s Brief Award and they took second place over all.The National Moot Court competitions, styled as an oral argument before the U.S. Supreme Court, are the oldest and most prestigious competitions of their kind in the country. This year’s case involved interpretation of the federal mail fraud statute and the constitutionality of tax court rules. ← Return to News & Events
