MVS employees offer a helping handMay 6, 2002 In February McKee, Voorhees and Sease began a community service project of serving meals to the residents at the Door of Faith Mission in downtown Des Moines. When the project was first proposed, it was anticipated that 12 people would be willing to pitch in and help out. Instead, twice as many staff and attorneys volunteered, with others offering to be substitutes.Broken into teams of three, the participants take turns going to the Mission each Wednesday to assist with the noon meal. Under the supervision of Lee, a colorful and talented chef, they not only have a good time but enjoy wonderful meals and have been able to meet and interact with some of the people who stay at the Mission. We are proud of the community spirit exemplified by these MVS volunteers and look forward to finding even more ways to serve others. ← Return to News & Events
